Jump rings are an essential finding and are used in many different jewellery projects. Their basic use is to connect two components together. They are especially useful if one of the components such as a charm or clasp has a closed loop connector. A jump ring opens and closes very simply using pliers.
OPEN jump rings are an integral part of jewellery making from adding charms and links together to lengthening clasps. Use to attach clasps to chain or even create dangles. There are two types of open jump rings, "closed but can be opened" and "open but need to be closed"
CLOSED jump rings are soldered closed so they cannot be opened and can be used for linking open jump rings into multiple stands, or for using with a clasp fastening at the end of a necklace or bracelet providing extra security as they will not be pulled apart.
